Key Concepts in Frends Architecture

Before jumping into the content let's walk through some short definitions for a couple of key concepts in Frends Architecture. Each of these are explained in more detail later in the course.

Agent

Agents are remote integration runtime systems that execute integrations.

Agent Group

Agents are grouped into Agent Groups. Agents in the same Agent Group share the same configuration. Each Agent is assigned to one Agent Group.

Environment

Environments are the logical containers for isolating Agents used in different roles during the Process lifecycle. Each Environment then has a set of Agent Groups with the actual Agents executing the Processes.

Control Panel

The Frends Control Panel is used for administrating integration Environments, developing integrations and APIs, and monitoring integrations.
