Introduction

This course will focus on user management in Frends. We will go through how to plan and create user roles, how to add roles to users and how to attach your OpenID provider to your Frends. After this course you will know how to manage your users and their roles.

User management is crucial when working in organizations. The importance of user management rises depending on how large the organization is. In Frends the user management is executed so that it's easy to operate and manage.

Planning your Frends roles

When planning your Frends roles it's a good idea to think what you want the users to be able to do and what you don't want them to do. For example, developers need Process editing access, Ops team members need access to administration and so on. Another example would be if you have a developer who only builds APIs then they might not need access to all Processes.

Following the structure of the organisation you are part of will highlight the required user access roles. Also, if you have established an OpenID provider for your organization it's usually best to follow the same hierarchy and create the roles based on that.
